About your family: I have 2 little girls; one who is 6 and in Kindergarten and another who is 3 and home with me, helping with the business. Both girls are very supportive and want to sell 'felt stuff' when they grow up!

What is your "Why"? My "Why" has changed since I first was introduced to Story Time Felts. In the beginning I loved the products so much and becoming a Consultant was a way for me to continue to stay home with my children while living the military family life of moving every couple of years. I am very grateful to have my Story Time Felts career which enables me to bring an extra income for my family! Being there for my girls has been such a blessing, and I couldn't find a more appropriate product to promote.

What is your favorite line when someone asks, "What do you do?" I like to tell them that I help parents and teachers enrich children's learning and foster creativity through imaginative felt play!

What do you attribute to your success? I would have to say determination. When someone tells me I can't do something, I have to prove that I can! I like challenges and setting and meeting goals. When one goal is achieved I set the next goal even higher. I am not happy unless I have something far out there to strive for! I could not achieve my goals without the wonderful support of my team (upline and downline) and the company. They have been with me every step of the way, spurring me on.

Tell us how to be successful recruiting. The most important lesson is to learn that it is a numbers game. The more people you talk to, the more people you will sign up. It's exciting to be working with 1 or 2 prospects, but remember this fact; your odds are greater for signing a new Consultant if you are working with 10. Talk to people wherever you are and create a mind set of our Business Opportunity being the best 'service' we offer! All of them may not join, but some of them will. The odds go up the more you ask!

What is the best thing you have learned? That this is a relationship business. Whether talking about the children's responses to the felt, their interaction with their parents and teachers, or the relationships between customers, host-esses and Consultants; focusing on the relationships leads to the greatest rewards!

How do you encourage and communicate with your team? Having a large organization has been a real challenge to me, and I love it! I spend a lot of time encouraging them online through our various egroups mailing lists, our weekly online meetings in my chat room, newsletters and conference calls.

How do you get your business going when it is at a stand -still? Remembering to "just ask" is so important! In the past 2 years I have experienced what it is like to suddenly find your calendar empty. One of the best things I ever did was start knocking on doors and just telling people what I do. Take a product like the Can Do Book, your Open Date Card and some catalogs and just ask!

What is your best advice to new Consultants? The best advice I would have is to ASK for help. We all know what it is like to be new and inexperienced. Everyone started where you are and we can all relate to both the excitement and the nervousness! Use your sponsor and your Managers or Directors &endash; our jobs are to help you succeed.

What training do you emphasize to your new Consultants? I think it is very important that the new Consultant realize this is primarily a home party business. Using other venues such as online sales, schools or events, can be a great way to supplement their business, but the fastest, easiest, most efficient way of booking, selling and recruiting, is through home parties!

Do you have a story you would like to share? My favorite product is the Castle Tales with Tape because it is one of the first products I saw make a clear impact on my children. While in the car, I played the Castle Tales tape from start to finish just once, and when we got home, my daughter, who was under 5 at the time, was able to retell every story in her own words in the correct sequence!
