SCHOOLS SALES This is the time of year when teachers and principals are being told, "Spend your money or lose it!" Since time is short and you want to make as many contacts as possible here is an idea that will help introduce educators to Story Time Felts products and build your business. Write a BRIEF (teachers don't read long letters) general introductory letter "Dear Educator," with a BRIEF description of our products (see the catalog or the Funfelt website for description ideas) and how they benefit children...gets children excited about learning, helps strengthen hand-eye coordination, stimulates and encourages conversation and language development, reaches the different learning styles...visual, auditory and kinesthetic (including tactile), builds oral presentation skills, appropriate for all skill levels...from special needs to talented and gifted students, products to help teach almost any subject area, etc.. **Don't forget to include your name, phone number, email and home/business address so they can contact you. Inside of a full line catalog place the letter and a sample piece of cut out felt (one figure from one of the sets or one figure from one of the hostess thank you gifts). Put a label on the back of the felt with your name and contact phone number and email and make sure your contact information is on the back of your catalog. Place this in a 9"x6" or 10"x7" envelope and write something like, "New Educational Products!" on the outside of the envelope. Call your local school(s) to find out how many kindergarten-2nd grade teachers there are. Bring the packets to the school(s). Ask the secretary if you can leave one packet for each kindergarten-2nd grade teacher (the word will spread to the older grades), special education teacher and librarian. Tell her that there is a sample inside each one. I would bring a couple of felt boards with a few figures pinned on them with me and pull them out while in the office to show the secretary so she can describe them to the teachers. HINT: you might want to have packets just for the secretary(ies) to take home for any young children in their life (children, grandchildren...). I would include a "thank you" gift for her...put some adhesive magnetic tape on the back of her figure to make it a refrigerator magnet...show her the gift and thank her on the spot! (A lot of secretaries are the backbone of the school!) DON'T EVER SEND JUST A CATALOG (without a sample)! This will not get the results you want. The pictures in the catalog do not show the thick, durable cushy felt, bright colors or vivid details of our beautiful products.
