Fiskars Softouch Micro-Tip Scissors
I really recommend this pair of scissors for any felt cutting that requires a lot of detail such as the Dinosaurs. They cut through the felt like butter and do not tire your hand out because of the spring-action! If you are a new Consultant cutting out your starter kit, you need these scissors!
8" Fiskars Softouch Multipurpose Scissors
These scissors are just as gentle on your hands as the Micro-Tips but there is a longer blade which is better for larger strokes for halo-cutting the pieces or cutting larger figures without as much detail. Although there is a loop around your hand with these scissors they are still very comfortable because of the spring action!
Beacon's Washable Fabri-Tac Glue
This is the glue to use when assembling any of our soft quiet books or puppets. It is a cold glue, so safe to use around children, goes on clear, sticks the felt together well, and holds up to washing, which means if your felt gets dirty over time, you can toss it in the wash and it with hold up. This is a great alternative to hot glue for those who like to save money by assembling the kits yourselves.
3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive
This is what we use when mounting out felt board background scenes to coroplast or cardboard. Simply spray the back of the felt, spray the board, wait a minute and lay it down. The adhesive is strong but removable, so you can take the background off in the future to wash and re-mount if necessary.
Plastic Shoe Box Stackable Storage
Thes inexpensive stackable storage boxes are great for storing your larger felt board sets that have many pieces, when you want to be able to just toss them in a box so the kids can help put them away. This works great for the Pirate set, Dinosaurs, Let's Play House, and other sets where there isn't a set story for which you'd need the pieces grouped together.
Velcro Dots
These can be used to attach to gloves to make any felt figures into fingerplays! Simply attach the self-adhesive hook part (pokey part) of the velcro dots to the tips of the glove.
Jumbo Craft Sticks
These can be used with the Velcro Dots to make great stick puppets out of any felt figure! Simply attach the velcro hook dot to the top of the Craft Stick and have some dramatic play fun!
Adhesive Mounted Wall Hooks
Use 2 of these wall hooks by 3M, mounted on your wall, to hold your felt boards. They will lean against the wall and can be changed out any time!
Wooden "Big Book" Storage Box On Wheels
This sturdy wooden box is the right width to hold our folded felt boards stacked upright in your home or classroom. Store the pieces separately in a shoebox or other system.
Clear Felt Board/Bulletin Board Storage Bag
This large clear bag with handles is expandable and large enough to hold our folded felt boards for storage.
Standing Easel with Tray
Set your felt boards against this easel and place the pieces in the tray for hours of fun. I recommend using binder clips to hold the felt board flush against the easel.
Instructions for Making a PVC Pipe Floor or Tabletop Easel (printable .gif image)
You can purchase and cut your own PVC pipe to make this easel. It was designed to hold our Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly but the "elbows" in the front allow you to rest any of our felt boards in the front or back of it. You can also choose to make longer "legs" underneath the "arms" and raise the felt board higher. Many consultants use this type of easel for their displays or for home and classroom use.
