How to Tell a Great Felt Board Story Practice before telling the story. Outline the story to help you remember the sequence. Use voice inflections for different story characters. Set a good pace - tell it too fast or too slow and you will lose them! Move the figures around the felt board to give the story action. Tell a story that you like and are comfortable with Have all your felt figures within easy reach Have all felt story figures and props laid out in order. Keep figures hidden either behind the felt board, under your leg, upside down etc. so there's an element of surprise. Put the figures on the felt board background scene one at a time Take each figure off as soon as you have finished its part. SMILE AND HAVE FUN!
